By statute, if the acts complained of were committed while you were a resident of Tennessee, or if the acts complained of were committed while outside of the state of Tennessee, but you have lived in Tennessee for at least six (6) months before you file your divorce complaint with the court, you can still file for divorce in Tennessee. TCA §36-4-104
