In Tennessee, to modify an existing child support order, a significant variance is required. The party requesting the review is required to provide information that shows a change in circumstance. Examples of change of circumstance include but are not limited to:
- either party has an additional child that they are legally responsible for supporting who was not included on the credit worksheet
- a child has been emancipated since the last credit worksheet
- either party has a significant change in income
