Jessica has over 13 years of experience practicing law. Prior to entering
private practice, Jessica was an Assistant District Attorney for over
10 years with the Tennessee Office of the District Attorney General- 21st Judicial District, serving Williamson, Lewis, Hickman, and Perry Counties.
While she prosecuted an extensive range of criminal offenses, Jessica
dedicated greater part of her career with the District Attorney’s
Office working with domestic abuse victims and their families by prosecuting
criminal cases involving domestic partners. For the majority of Jessica’s
career as a prosecutor, she served as the Domestic Violence Prosecutor,
providing her with the ability to gain years of experience in the court
system. Jessica has prosecuted and litigated a wide range of criminal
domestic cases including domestic assault, aggravated assault, sexual
assaults, stalking, harassment, violation of order of protection, kidnapping
and murder in both General Sessions Court as well as Circuit Court.
Additionally, Jessica has volunteered in our community to bring more advocacy
and education to domestic abuse such as working with Bridges Domestic
Violence Shelter to conduct various trainings with community agencies
to bring awareness to domestic violence issues. She has administered countless
law enforcement trainings. Throughout her career, Jessica has served on
the Veteran’s Treatment Court Team, Sexual Assault Response Team,
Domestic Violence Task Force, and headed a Domestic Violence Community
Coordinated Response Team while in her tenure with the District Attorney’s
Office. Currently, Jessica serves on the Board for the Davis House Child
Advocacy Center as well as Bridges Domestic Violence Shelter.
What makes Jessica unique from other family law attorneys is that she has
encountered and handled countless cases involving mental health issues
during her career as a prosecutor. She is a fierce advocate for domestic
abuse victims and their families, which has allowed her to foster a solid
transition with her practice into the civil domestic world. Jessica knows
all too well that abuse can take on many forms including, physical, emotional,
and psychological. It’s her intention to focus her civil practice
to continue to devotedly serve the community in civil cases involving
domestic issues such as divorce, post-divorce, child support, custody,
juvenile cases, wills, conservatorships, and orders of protection.
Jessica is a native of Atlanta, Georgia but moved to Tennessee in 2001
